The Afghanistan Handball Federation is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Handball Federation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (hereinafter “the Federation”) is a non-governmental, non-profit sports organization with unlimited duration that undertakes its mission with no discrimination to race and religion and free of politics. The Federation was established and recognized in 1980 by the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee and Sports Organization and in 2004, the Federation was officially affiliated to the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Asian Handball Federation (AHF). The Beach Handball Committee was established in 2009.
Based on the Olympic Charter Guidelines and the Statutes of the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) and in accordance with Afghan national laws and Islamic affairs, the Federation undertakes its mission and role at national level as the highest and independent authority in handball, closely cooperating with the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Sport in Afghanistan.
Based on Article 7.2 of the Statutes of the International Handball Federation (IHF), all provisions of these Statutes and other bylaws of the Federation will always comply with the statutes, regulations, directives and decisions of the bodies of the International Handball Federation (IHF) at any time as well as the decisions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). In case of conflict or contradiction with IHF Statutes and Regulations, the IHF Statutes and Regulations shall prevail.
